Lifting up Your Brothers to the Throne:

And Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and request. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. Ephesians 6: 18

 

I have had a burden to share with how you can lift your dear brothers to the throne of Jesus. I have been talking with my sweet sisters about how “different” men are these days. We talked about the men that are dad’s are. Men of strong faith, who have protected their families, been faithful to their wife and have lead their families in a Christ like manner. I have been frustrated that most men today are simply not like that. It is extremely rare find in this world now. I know so many sweet, Christian ladies who are waiting for the right man to stand and ask them out and they wait in vain and are discouraged when all the “wrong’ men ask them out.  I quickly realized the other day that it is not the “men” of today that are different ,but it is the world that has changed towards men.  Men are told to take a back seat. Men are not the only ones who go to college now, who hold high power jobs, who bring home a pay check every month, who pay the bills, who manage the mortgage ect…   More women run the world and are the bread winners today. I might be an old fashion girl but my heart’s desire is to raise a family and love my husband. I long to be a wife of noble character and a wife whose husband calls her blessed, and a woman that fears the Lord (Proverbs 31).  I am not at all saying that women who work are wrong to do so. The Proverbs 31 woman is proof that a wife should not be lazy. She buys lands, she plants a vineyard, and she works while it is still dark outside (Proverbs 31: 13-16). Sounds like this woman has a couple of jobs and her family is the core of it. There is nothing wrong with women working but I do think that women are taking some of the “rights’ away from men. Rights that the Lord intended men to have; leadership, respect, submission, and honor have fallen by the way side for many men today. Men were made to lead and to be the head of the household ( Ephesians 5: 23). Sadly too many families are not like this now. I have been burden to pray for the men in this world and more specifically the man who the Lord blesses me with as my husband. I encourage my sweet sisters to join me in this. Pray for the men in your life.  Wives pray daily for your husband, single ladies pray for your future husband, all women pray for your earthly dads. They have the weight of the world on their shoulders and they need the courage and strength that only the Lord can provide them with. I pray that the men in my life fear the Lord because it is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge (Psalm 111:10, Proverbs 1:7). I pray that  they know that the Lord cares for every detail of their life, right down to the number of hairs on their head ( Luke 12:7). I pray that they would listen to the Lord as HE instructs his mind ( 1 Corinthians 2: 16). I pray that they will no longer be conformed to the pattern of this world but renewed in Christ (Romans 12:2). I pray eagerly that they will flee temptation and rejoice when they have overcome it in HIM ( James 4:7, 1 Timothy 6:11, 2 Timothy 2:22). That they will draw near to God (James 4:8). That their mind will be at peace because they trust in the Lord( Isaiah 26: 3-4). I pray that they will look to the Lord so that they may be radiant (Psalms 34:5). That they look to the Lord also for strength ( Psalms 105:4). I pray the friendships that they have now are honoring to HIM and that they listen to wise friends ( Proverbs 1:5).  I pray that the words of their mouths are pleasing to HIM and that they build others up in HIS name( Psalms 19:14, Ephesians 4: 29). I pray that they are never lazy and that the favor of the Lord rest upon them (Proverbs 10:4, Psalm 90: 17 ). Lastly, I pray that they will love the Lord with all their heart ( Deuteronomy 6:5). That they will dwell in the Shelter of the Most High ( Psalms 91:1).

I encourage you sisters to start praying for the men in this world. They are faced with much more then what our dads and granddads had to deal with.  Pray that they will stand firm and that they will renew their strength in Christ and soar like eagles. (Isaiah 40:31).
